The diversity of the Deane Lab scientists ensures a wide array of ideas and approaches to disease-related research. A major area of interest is the development of treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and Parkinson’s diseases.

A common feature of these diseases is the presence of abnormal proteins, but how these proteins lead to disease is unknown. Deane researchers are studying the interactions of these proteins in an attempt to develop new therapies.
